Hi folks,
just wanted to instroduce myself. I'm taiBsu from Dresden, Germany and I got here because I have been a Giants fan since the very beginning. Getting back to playing it again now, I discovered GiantsWD because I was looking for some graphics patches for Windows 10 (and btw the 1.497 patch does awesome).
I'm a C++ Software Developer myself and really want to get into the logics and everything about patching the game as I'm into game programming as a hobby (and might want to become a full-time Game Programmer sometime ) and would be very grateful if I might get the possibility to contribute to anything around patch projects etc.! So if someone could maybe introduce me or sth. like that I might even be helpful on upcoming projects. If not so, I'd love to get the possibility to at least learn a bit about how you developed the 1.497 patch so I could work on it myself at home.

Hello and welcome to the community taiBsu!

First of all, I encourage you to join our Discord channel at https://discord.gg/Avj4azU , this way we could communicate a lot easier and you'd be able to reach the people who'd be knowledgeable in the matter of patches.

Second of all, the main developer of 1.497 is available over at our Discord but he's very busy and even though they said they'll be trying to get back to the development, they are focused mostly on other things. But it's always worth a try asking them about it. Plus they are not the only one with experience in this stuff.

So I invite you once again to the Discord, where you'll be able to reach these people and get some help. Other than that we'd love to play with you and if you are on either the Discord or our Steam group (https://steamcommunity.com/groups/GiantsWD) you'll get a notification every time we start a game - we always announce that so you won't miss a match!

Thanks for the quick answer! I'm at my family's right now so I won't be able to join you before Tuesday on Discord but I will definitely pay it a visit. I really hope to be able to contribute in any way I can and of course I'll join you in some games Looking forward to it!
