HELP ON THE EDITOR
HELP i wanna go onto my map but when it loads up my map then it just displays a messege saying:
ERROR SPAWNING GIANTS IF GIANTS DID NOT START,CHECK THAT IS WAS INSTALLED PROPERLY.IF GIANTS DID START,IT DID NOT EXIT PROPERLY. help

Ok first of all it's probably not GiantsEdits fault, it's an error message shown by GMM
GMM displays that editor if:
1. The giants executable could not be found or could not be started
2. Giants exited returning an error
If number 2 is the case Giants shouldn't start even if you would start it from gamepy or windows itself.
If number 1 is the case GMM could not find Giants or couldn't start Giants or didn't find the map. Did you put the .gck extension at the end of the file? else GMM won't be able to locate the map.

None of the posts above gave you the answer to your problem,
if that shows there are only two things that would be the factors
it doesnt have anything to do if you have enough RAM or anything...
1. There is an object on your map that needs a 2nd object to function
(Object 90 for Verms, Object 215 if you wanna add Barracks and
expect them to work, etc)
2. Your map isnt "complete", it happens if you start a map from
scratch, you should download a map that is completed and edit that one instead.
Every map Ive made Ive used one of my old onces
or downloaded one from a site... (no problems for me ^_^)
There are more to understand about 2nd point;
(These things might not cause the problem but
might cause the map to not function)
IF you import objects from a singel player mission,
it will look like this inside the GMM file:
"Modinfo_BinName=E:\Program\Spel\Giants\bin\w_Story1.bin"
(thats my game folder)
I NEVER edit anything at "Map names and properties"
If you save it after editing it will change your bin file,
name change: w_M_Mecc__MvM - Playground.bin
(That is my map, Playground which would get the new name)
(It would look like that in the game and at the Gamespy list...)
Inside the gck file (BIN, GMM and GTI)
Change *.gck to *.zip and extract the files inside.
GTI can you leave alone, BIN dont you have to open but should have
a name like "MvM - Map.bin", GMM has some stuff you need to edit:
Modinfo_BinName=w__MvM - Map.bin
Modinfo_BinType=13
Modinfo_Shareable
Modinfo_UserMessage=It was created by RichardMH,
the layout was made by Thanatos.
BinName = Needs to be the same as the Bin file
(If you add "w__" the game will show the map as; "WN_MvM - Map"
If you dont it will look like; "WNMvM - Map")
BinType = Game type, 13 = MvM, 11 = RvR, 49 = 3way
(Games like MvR, MvK, RvK I believe are number 13)
Shareable = Tells you that other players can download it from you
when your hosting using GMM program
UserMessage = Is the message that shows at the GMM program
and when someone downloads the map from you...

There might also be a 3rd reason but I wouldnt call it one.
When ppl are using Trainers on a game, even on a map like V.Small
you might get that message.

but here it goes:
First u add the object 49 (there's a harder way but this one is easier)
AI mode 0, then u activate Vimpherd Params under More... next to the boxes u add the angels and positions.
add the fallowing under the 5 boxes:
6 23 0 2131 537088
6 = how many vimpheard markers u have (if u have something else, u add that instead)
23 = telling which vimpheard team it is, 22 or 23 is wut u can use
0 = null idea I have no idea wut this is for, but I always have it 0
2131 = same thing here no idea
537088 = same...
if u have two vimp heards with 5 markers in each it will look like this:
5 - 22 - 0 - 2131 - 537088
5 - 23 - 0 - 2131 - 537088
ok thats it with the object 49
now to the vimp markers
679 is the object for it, add 22 or 23 to the AI mode,
first marker shouldnt have any TeamID, the 2nd should have 1, 3rd should have 2 and so on... (if u have 5 markers the last marker will have TeamID 4, but u should still say 5 markers under the obj49...)
when u have made the vimp markers as u want them (u dont have to turn them so they face the direction they should be walking, just a waste of time) u can activate Object Data under More...
then there will be 3 boxes for u to fill out
someone have said that the middle one is for giving the heard a bigger gap between each vimp the other two we dont know
add:
50 in all three boxes see wut happens
u dont have to care about the .00000000 after it they will add themself if u select another object then back again.

I have to say, in my defence, that there are plenty of reasons for Giants Mod Manager to show that message, for example damaged files etc. (trust me...I really got to know that message from the inside out when I was making my Giants Text Editor ;))RichardMH wrote:if that shows there are only two things that would be the factors

making a custom map shareble
hi I'm just new here (on the site)
yesterday I've made my first map, based on mecc vs mecc I (V.small)
I've read the toturial for making maps, but I can't share it.
So I made it a zip file (.rar) and changed .gmm with notepad like the toturial said, now I can't turn the zip file back to .gck.
so I hope someone could help me
btw don't make fun of my english it sucks
yesterday I've made my first map, based on mecc vs mecc I (V.small)
