The server contract is due to expire soon and I don't want to move GiantsWD back to the older server, where downloads are slower than drying paint on a muggy day. Being a college student and out of pizza funds, it will be easier to have a third party company paying for hosting GiantsWD. There are basically two ways for this to happen:

1) Image ads at the top of the page
2) Google text ads at the top or on the left column

Feedback is greatly appreciated, positive or negative, and will help me decide how best to resolve this situation.

Do whatever it takes to keep the site going, if that means putting some dinky little banner up, or some tiny little text ads, then so be it, hell I personally wouldn't care if you had popups on the site. So far as negative feedback goes, if they don't plan on contributing financially to the site themselves, they should probably stay quiet.

Popups are fine and normal for sites like these. Maybe a banner at the bottom or so will do fine. This way the site's maintainance is paid for and will not be an issue again.

I do not wish to deface this site with poorly choiced advertisements that detract from the overall feeling visitors receive. As for google ads, apparently I am not allowed to mention the ads at all, nor ask visitors to click on them to support the site. I am not sure how successful this type of system would be if i were to follow those rules.

*Cough* I emailed the google guys asking why it's showing SF Giants football tickets and other irrelevant material. Hopefully this can be resolved without much change, but my guess is that google ads don't much like GiantsWD's dynamic content. If that is the case, those ads will be removed.
