Giants Edit problem!!!!! NEED HELP..

Post by Master Yan 2.0 »

Im having problems with giantsedit and its getting on my effin nerves. It never lets me make a 3way map, and I have all the lighting, all the spawn points, all the bases, and the titles and stuff are correctly typed, and it always gives me the Error spawning giants error that happens during the maps loading time in game.

Whats going on?

This happened to me once. I remember that i only fixed it when i closed the editor and then re-opened and started a new map... But there must be another way to fix it though.
Mmmm btw were u running any unpacker program? (that was using one of the giants files) This causes errors too.

Hey Yan, old mate :D

Wouldn`t it be easier to load an existing 3way map and work over it/modify it, instead of wasting all your time in settin` up the properties 3way requires to be set? It sure would. I haven`t been editing maps for quite some time, therefore my knowledge of that stuff is a little bit shorther, but I`m quite sure you have to set up few things in the properties panel. I remember I`ve been doing that when making " sunset bay ". Either way, Nullopointer will give you an answer that will solve your problem sooner or later, just be patient(takes some time) :p

Thank you system, nice talking to ya too!

So if I just load an premade 3way map then clear objects and terrain I can start over?..

If that doesnt work, then I hope null can tell me how to do the properties correctly.

Hi Yan. Your problem may be caused by a couple different things. Some of the default Giants single player maps such as Mecc Story 5 might crash when you start it up. That one is due to the fact that some object which is required is missing. The required object was in the single player map but in the new mod multiplayer map it is missing.

Why don't you export your current terrain then create a new map based on 3 Way Island 2 then import the terrain you backed up then put in the objects you want. If you have already put in lots of objects then the crashing might be due to the fact that you have added an object that requires another certain object. It also might be crashing because you changed some texture names. Any texture name changes have to be made in 2 different places in the editor not just one place.
