running giants on virtual machine

Post by HellSnake »

hey lads, i want to run giants on mah virtual machine
the host = vista
the virtual machine is windows XP with 1699 MB ram
giants is version 1.0 (DEBUG MODE :D )
but every time i run giants.exe , already tried safe mode
i get the error:

Code: Select all

Giants Error
Too many tries in texture reduction code
(if u rlly want to feel like you are actually getting a error,
make a .txt file, type |Msgbox"Too many tries in texture reduction code",vbokonly,"Giants Error"| without | and save it as a .vbs file and click it... )

anyways, what should i do? is it my virtual graphic card or sumthin :S

Yes, that happened to me when i first run my computer. You have to download the drivers of your graphic card. If it's an nvidia go to www.nvidia.com , if you don't know the version of your graphic card download a program called "Everest". Last thing: could you send me the debug menu via pm  ?

read very close giants gamer, VIRTUAL MACHINE
XD i have a virtual graphic card, i have no idea what drivers i should use for giants, but i shall look what happens if i update HOST

**edit
-updated host, nothun happend as expected
-downgraded virtual machine addictions, pc = slower, but still giants crashes...
-Completely delete giants(giants leaves alot of junk in register  ) en reinstalled, nothing happend

the 'virtual' graphic card is a S3 trio 32/64 ( drivers ???)
and my real card is a nNVIDIA Gerforce 9300 GE(latest drivers)

i dunno what to do anymore
