I put that in the menu so that the Google Ads could pick it up. I was told that I wasn't using enough content-specific text, but seeing how it really hasn't affected the types of ads shown, I'd say they are covering up for their faulty system.

Hi Josh,

Near the top of the page you should see a link titled "Profile." Click on that and near the bottom of the resulting page, you will see options for adding a picture, also known as "avatar."

Let's get a few details down first:

1) How often does this happen?

2) What other programs are you running when this happens?

3) Vid card, sound card, motherboard drivers up-to-date?

4) DirectX version up-to-date?

5) Running version 1.4 patch?

I looked in Internet Explorer's options, but it won't allow me to change it's renaming technique. The next best alternative is to view file extensions so you can change them by hand. Open up any folder and click on tools in the menu. Go to Tools > Folder Options > View and uncheck "Hide extensi...

It looks like Internet Explorer is saving GCK files as zip. When you save it to desktop, can you see the file extension (.gck or .zip)?

Ah. First off, make sure you are running your dedicated server from the dedicated.exe file in the Giants directory. You will see a bunch of options, including map rotations, that are normally not available when trying to host a dedicated server with the "dedicated" command. If I'm correct,...

1) Command: newhost playername There are not quotes or any special syntax. Type "newhost" followed by the players name to name an admin. "Nonewhost" will reverse this action. 2) Yes, you should see a timelimit option somewhere in the main GUI when you start dedicated.exe. 3) Yes,...

Exporting N64 Objects and Maps

I stumbled across a topic which describes how you can export geometry and texture with Nemu, a Nintendo 64 emulator. It would be really nice to see some of the older Nintendo64 maps from Mario 64 and Zelda 64, as well as other games, be added to Giants. I might start on this project when I have more...

I like Ammar's idea. It might be more of a motivation to keep information current. However, forums are not structured to restrict individual topics from being posted in by certain individuals. It is possible to accomplish with a category, but that might add more confusion about the Patch 1.5 section...

What version of Giants are you running? Try reapplying the 1.4 patch.
