The closest thing to Giants in terms of humor/wackiness (as well as the third person gameplay) would have to be Armed and Dangerous. Also, MDK and MDK2 might fit the bill. I haven't played them myself, but being a product of Interplay I'm inclined to believe the praise it receives for gameplay and h...

When the community went, the players pretty much went. People still play, but generally it's no fun playing with them. Winning has pretty much always been the point of playing games online, but there's no social interaction anymore. Without it, I feel Giants is pretty empty. There's mainly the skill...

Hello and welcome back :) I'm not sure if 'alive' is the right term, I'd say 'hanging on' fits the situation more. I continue to check the forums but I don't really play much. The skill gap and infrequent matches, let alone a 'CoD mentality' of some players sucks the fun out of the game. Couple this...

I would bet on GiantsWD being the most active Giants Citizen Kabuto related website anywhere. Remember that this game is 12 years old and was never marketed very well. Add to that the nubs who can't take the time to get to know people let alone learn to play to the game in multiplayer (which plays v...

Thanks Falcoz for that extra info :) Reflecting on that it would indeed be a personal experiment with watercooling above all-else. Unless of course one's serious about getting into overclocking, but it's not the impression I'm getting. To hook into the noise bit then, you could also get a fan contro...

As long as you don't go for insane speeds it's pretty safe. The most notable issue of course is heat and overheating, though your PC should power down before permanent damage occurs (assuming you didn't mess with that feature). Of course also always take care when increasing voltage. Not to mention ...

When you start waiting for hardware you may as well wait for eternity, since everything follows each other so fast. You may as well wait for the Radeon HD8000 series for the price drop of the 7000 series. :p This is pure speculation based on spec but I doubt a GTX650 would carry enough punch if you'...

I have no idea. Last I played there were still only boring, annoying and lagging noobs playing the game. The CoD generation is not kind to Giants.

I've never used SCSI drivers personally, but while they are indeed faster, it seems negligible in everyday situations. If you have 10 SATA drives you may as well make a RAID setup which should perform better than a single SCSI drive (though at the cost of higher risks of data loss). For real perform...

Overall, I'd say the 7870 would perform better than the 660 as well as the 660 ti. The one argument for either might be in the ATI/Nvidia driver debate, but in my personal experience, neither is really better than the other on average. For that extra $25 I think the 7870 remains to be a better buy a...

Buying used is always a risk, but in my experience so is buying new. I personally consider it a gamble but with odds nicely in your favor, I guess eBay wouldn't be a bad place to start though I'm not sure about other more specialized places for used tech as far as the US is concerned. Though buying ...

Yeah, the motherboard supports up to Quad SLI (with two dual GPU cards). Hmm.. I think I was mislead there (and thus afraid I mislead you), it was advertised as GTX 560 ti but when I actually checked out the page itself it turned out to be a GTX 550 ti. Sorry about that, didn't mean to get your hope...

The board I suggested is a regular ATX sized board and the 560 isn't that long, so the midi tower you linked should have no issues with it (looks nice too). For PSU you should be able to do fine with 500W very comfortably if you buy an A-listed brand (and don't intend to overclock). Though you could...
